Support Groups

Look for survivor support groups through local churches, counseling centers, hospitals, and community organizations.


Grief Counseling

A licensed grief therapist or counselor can provide one-on-one support as you move through loss at your own pace.


Crisis Support

If you or someone you love is in immediate emotional distress, reach out to crisis support right away for urgent help.

NAMI, National Alliance for the Mentally Ill – Orange County Chapter

In addition to other services, NAMI offers a “Warm Line” of caring listeners offering support for those living with mental illness and their families (877) 910-WARM (910-9276).

Hours: 9AM – 3 AM weekdays, 10 AM – 3 AM weekends.

NAMI – GLAC x CalHOPE, National Alliance for the Mentally Ill – Greater Los Angeles Chapter

In addition to other services, NAMI offers a “Chat Line” of caring healing humans offering support for those living with mental illness and their families (213) 386-3615.

Hours: 9 AM – 5 PM weekdays. Starting July 31, 2023.

Coast Hills Church, “Anchored in Hope”

Coast Hills Church, “Anchored in Hope” — a phrase taken from Hebrews 6:19 — is a Christian-based group through the Grief Share network open to anyone with a loss of a loved one. You do not have to be Christian or a member of the church. Coast Hills Church, 5 Pursuit, Aliso Viejo, CA. Contact is Donna Hillman 949-525-1448. Focus of group is bereavement support, survivors of suicide and at the present time, any other loss. If the group grows Donna will start a separate group for the suicide survivors.

Meets every Monday 6:30 – 8:30 PM.
